The ABC's of Managing Stress and Time

A - Admit your mistakes. Apologize; don't waste the time and energy in making excuses or cover ups. No mistakes mean nothing significant is being attempted.

B - Balance your life by including family, friends, learning, leisure and work.

C - Communicate with family, friends, supervisor and coworker. Express feelings verbally instead of keeping them all inside.

D - Delegate. Decide on tasks you can delegate. Other people may not do them the same, but they will be done.

E - Exercise regularly. Even 30 minutes of walking three times a week can benefit your mind and body.

F - Focus on the positive. Focus on your strengths and skills. You can't be good at everything.

G - Give up procrastination. If the task is too big to tackle, divide it into smaller tasks. Make a list of these tasks and complete them one at a time.

H - Humor. Try to see the humor in you job, situations, and yourself. Don't take yourself too seriously. Laughter is the best medicine.

I - If this were your last day on earth, is there anything you would regret not doing? Just do it!

J - Just say no!

K - Keep in mind Murphy's famous three laws.

1) Nothing is as simple as it seems.
2) Everything takes longer than you think it will.
3) If anything can go wrong, it will.
In other words, be flexible.

L - Listen to your body and take advantage of your body's rhythms. Figure out when your prime time is and use it wisely.

M - Maintain an ongoing shopping list at home and work.

N - Nutrition. What we eat and drink may be making us feel more stresses.

O - Overcome clutter. Make the time to organize stuff and put things away after using them.

P - Play!

Q - Quiet time. Plan for some everyday.

R - Relax and take a break when you feel tired or tense.

S - Support systems. Surround yourself with supportive family and friends, people who encourage you and build you up, not take you down.

T - Try not to be a people pleaser. Not everyone is going to like you all the time. Be true to yourself.

U - Utilize time waiting.

V - Value your time. Don't over schedule your day.

W - Write lists of things you need to do.

X - Xplore new ideas. Don't become stagnant.

Y - You need to leave work at work.

Z - ZZZ...get enough sleep and rest.
